Nantes Food Forum
Our objective is to offer the general public the chance to take a seat at the table of this great international family in motion, to imagine a world together in which eating better is not simply a sweet utopia reserved for a select few.
From one crisis to the next, farmers and agribusiness giants have come to understand that as one model dies, another must be born. But when caught in the eye of the storm and cornered by financial pressures, it is difficult to see clearly and to achieve the hindsight needed to advance; this is what the États Généraux de l'Alimentation (The State of Food, a national assembly concerning the entire food chain) has currently brought to light as it attempts to distinguish urgently needed actions from long-term policies. At the same time, numerous initiatives are emerging. These promising prospects for the future inspire enthusiasm, yet are often viewed in a fragmented manner.
The objective of the Nantes Food Forum is to offer the general public the chance to take a seat at the table with this great international family in motion, to imagine a world together in which eating better is not simply a sweet utopia reserved for a select few.
Therefore, after a highly successful first edition in June 2017 in Nantes, it is imperative to continue and grow the momentum generated by this event, so that it may become one of the world's leading gatherings on food each year — a must-see international event where major issues related to food are publicly debated
This second edition (3-7 October 2018), will maintain this unique event's fundamental objective : address both professionals and the wider public through a diverse program of masterclasses, conferences and top-notch round-table talks, but also popular, fun and tasty events whose spectacular images will make their way across the globe.
Through the Nantes Food Forum, the city of Nantes hopes to demonstrate its ambition to bring awareness and reflection on food-related issues to the national and European level
