Heritage
Clisson
In the heart of Nantes' vineyards

With its Italian-style architecture, Clisson is reminiscent of a rustic central Italian city.

Nicknamed “Clisson the Italian”, this town’s stunning architecture was based on what one might find in Tuscany. The castle also marks the southern entrance to the former Duchy of Brittany. Visit the 14th-century covered market and cross the Sèvre River via the Pont de la Vallée bridge to get a sense of the city’s transalpine atmosphere: tile and brick villas, gardens in the shade of umbrella pines, rustic houses, antique statues, and more!
