Stroll along the Sevre river

Around the year 1000, monks built this causeway along the Sèvre Nantaise.

By retaining the river flow, boats were able to flow upstream from Vertou and build a mill. The former 12-km (7.5-mile) towpath linking Nantes to Vertou now offers hikers and cyclists a protected route along the river. Today, visitors can enjoy plenty of activities: riverside strolls, restaurants…

Whether on foot or by bike, by continuing along the banks of the Sèvre, you can reach the site of La Frémoire in 15 minutes (on foot). Just follow the signs!
