Pont Caffino

The lofty setting of Pont Caffino is surrounded by steep cliffs, and covered with grapevines on the Maisdon-sur-Sèvre side. On the other side, a church and Château-Thébaud town hall overlook the canyon-like landscape.

Pont Caffino – whose name comes from the word caffine (i.e., a quarry) – has had several lives: first a flour mill, then a quarry whose stone was used to make cobblestones for Nantes’ streets, which were shipped up the Maine River.

Today, Pont Caffino offers many outdoor activities for all to enjoy.
