Wearing face coverings in Nantes

mandatory in the whole city

Starting Saturday, September 12, at 8 a.m., everyone will have to wear a mask, everywhere in Nantes as well as in Saint-Herblain, Saint-Sébastien and Bouguenais.

To slow down the evolution of the virus, the Prefecture, in consultation with the City of Nantes, has extended the obligation to wear a mask in public spaces. This regulation does not apply to joggers and cyclists.
Wearing a mask is also compulsory in public transport, enclosed areas open to the public and shops.
The decree will be valid day and night.
Failure to comply with these obligations exposes offenders to a fine of €135, and in case of repeat offence within 15 days, to a fine of €1500.
