2022 BMX racing World Championships
5 days of competitions, 3000 athletes from over 45 countries!
More than 3,000 competitors will challenge each other on a temporary track at the Parc des Expositions de la Beaujoire.
An Olympic event since 2008, BMX racing, a sport originating in the USA, is a spectacular discipline and particularly popular with young people. In competition, the riders race in groups of eight, on a track about 370 m long consisting of various jumps and rollers. The first four are qualified for the next phase. The ultimate goal is to cross the line first in the final round! Extremely spectacular and acrobatic, the best international riders need to channel their power, speed, endurance and agility to win the ultimate Grail of the sports season, the rainbow jersey.
The best athletes in the discipline will compete in spectacular events with "mound" starts at 8 metres (for the world championships) and 5 metres (for the world challenge), and will try to qualify for the 2024 Olympic Games.
